The Helene and Robert Hoffmann Pediatric Emergency Department at St. John’s Mercy Children’s Hospital

Helene and Robert Hoffmann have always been generous donors to St. John’s Mercy Foundation. Though the couple never had children of their own, their gifts were often designated to benefit pediatric patients at the Medical Center.

Before passing in 2001, Mr. Hoffmann was a master electrician on the maintenance staff at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center for more than 15 years.

When Mrs. Hoffmann passed away in 2009, she left the entire Hoffmann Estate to St. John’s Mercy Foundation in the form of a trust.

In recognition of this significant gift, St. John’s Mercy will name the pediatric emergency department at St. John’s Mercy Children’s Hospital, “The Helene and Robert Hoffmann Pediatric Emergency Department.”

This gift, along with many others ensures that the 22,000 children who visit The Helene and Robert Hoffmann Pediatric Emergency Department each year will receive the compassionate care they need.
