St. John’s Mercy Foundation is currently seeking contributions for many programs and projects at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, including:
St. John’s Mercy Children’s Hospital
St. John’s Mercy cares for children from birth through early adulthood. Each year more than 85,000 young people receive care at St. John’s Mercy Children’s Hospital where they are treated by board-certified pediatricians and specialists, whether for routine wellness care or sophisticated life-saving intervention.
As the only full-service hospital in St. Louis County to be designated as a children’s hospital by NACHRI (National Association of Children Hospitals and Related Institutions), St. John’s Mercy provides individualized care for virtually all health issues children can experience.
David C. Pratt Cancer Center
The David C. Pratt Cancer Center brings together new technology, highly-skilled physicians, and a community of support all in a comfortable healing environment. St. John’s Mercy is approved as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
To provide a catalyst for individuals from the community to support
St. John’s Mercy, David C. Pratt named the Cancer Center with the donation of a challenge gift – a dollar-for-dollar match for all charitable contributions made to the David C. Pratt Cancer Center, until the $6 million fundraising need has been met.
“So, if an individual gives a $1,000 gift, they are really giving $2,000,” says Pratt. “But more important than the dollar amount is the commitment that person is making to St. John’s Mercy. I hope that people choose to give to the best of their ability at all levels, whether it is $50 or $50,000. Community support of the Medical Center’s efforts is vital.”
St. John’s Mercy Women’s and Children’s Services
The Women’s and Children’s Services at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center are about more than births. Although more babies are delivered at
St. John’s Mercy than at any other medical facility in the St. Louis area, services also include extensive programs and services that benefit women and children at all stages of life.
JFK Clinic
Serving the community for more than 40 years, the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Clinic provides comprehensive medical and low-cost prescriptions to more than 31,000 patients each year who can afford only a small fraction of the cost of their care. The JFK Clinic provides access to quality medical care in the areas of internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, and pediatrics.
Mercy Neighborhood Ministries
The Neighborhood Ministry connects those in need with health and social service resources and provides health education, screenings, flu shots and social services at neighborhood food pantries, meal programs, churches and schools throughout St. Louis.
Clinical Research at St. John’s Mercy
St. John’s Mercy Research Institute is dedicated to improving patient outcomes by supporting new and potentially life-changing health research. The institute facilitates research opportunities by creating a consistent pathway for physicians to get research projects approved and off the ground.
St. John’s Mercy Heart and Vascular Hospital
St. John’s Mercy Heart and Vascular Hospital combines expertise and technology to provide comprehensive cardiac care that includes prevention, education and information services as well as diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation.
St. John’s Mercy Heart and Vascular Hospital brings all cardiovascular services together into one comprehensive state-of-the-art facility. The Heart and Vascular Hospital tower is also home to the emergency department, including St. Louis County’s only Level I trauma center, adult emergency services and dedicated pediatric emergency department.
Cardinals Kids Cancer Center
Each year, more than 21,000 people turn to St. John’s Mercy for comprehensive cancer care, among them are more than 300 children.
Thanks to a $1 million challenge gift by St. Louis Cardinals minority owner, David C. Pratt and an anonymous donor, those children will soon receive treatment at the Cardinals Kids Cancer Center.
This unique child-centered environment provides pediatric cancer and hematology patients with medical excellence, support and hope during their journey through treatment. The Cardinals Kids Cancer Center was designed with a look and feel similar to the new Busch Stadium. The St. Louis Cardinals theme adds an element of fun to a difficult day of treatment.
Catherine McAuley Fund to provide for the most urgent needs at
St. John’s Mercy
Donations may be made to the St. John’s Mercy Foundation to benefit the Medical Center where the need is greatest. This may include medical technology, capacity building, medical education, help for uninsured patients or other programs that benefit St. John’s Mercy patients and their families.
