Patient instructions

PREPARATION FOR ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

  • Please check with your doctor before your scheduled appointment to see if you need an insurance approval form.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment with an insurance card and/or a physician referral number. (Ultrasound tests for late arrival may be delayed.)
  • Please drink liquids so your bladder will be full at test time. After 24 weeks gestation a full bladder is not necessary. 
  • One other person may be present at the testing. Others may view the ultrasound after the test is over.

PREPARATION FOR A BIOPHYSICAL TEST

  • No special preparation is necessary for any of the biophysical tests (non-stress test or biophysical profile)
  • One other person may be present at the testing.
