St.
John’s Mercy Medical Center operates
the only Level I Trauma Center in St. Louis County. (Level I centers represent
large urban hospitals that commit a significant amount of resources to research
in improving care of traumatized patients.) The Medical Center handles a major
share of the area's trauma cases and provides medical direction for six fire/ambulance
districts. Our Emergency department staff diagnoses and treats major and minor
traumatic and medical emergencies, providing advanced care 24 hours a day,
every day.

Eight pediatric treatment
rooms, four pediatric trauma rooms

minor injuries and illnesses with six rooms.
