St. John’s
Mercy Medical Center (SJMMC) began the Operating Room(OR) Fellowship in September 1997.
Prior to the development of the OR Fellowship program, local hospitals only
hired nurses into the OR if they had prior OR experience. This resulted in
a number of nurses wanting to work in the OR without the ability to receive
proper training. To address this need SJMMC took the initiative and created
our own Operating Room Fellowship program for employees of SJMMC. |
