The Wellness Center

Each resident can take advantage of a complimentary membership to the Medical Center's Wellness Center.

Parking

Free parking.

Meals

All residents are provided 3 free meals per day in the medical center dining facility.

Moving Expenses Stipend

Incoming residents receive $1,000.00 for moving expenses (To those who qualify - effective 07/05).

Lab Coat Allowance

Incoming residents will receive $75.00 lab coat allowance upon arrival into the residency program.


 

The St. John's Mercy Co-worker Children Center

The Children's Center is available for all St. John's Mercy Healthcare co-workers from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. It is also open on holidays if there is sufficient need. The Center bases its program on developmentally appropriate activities for children who range on age from 6 weeks to 12 years of age. The school-age summer camp program is offered for children who have completed kindergarten and includes older children to age 12. The multifaceted summer program, which runs from end of May to late August, incorporates art, physical activities, and cultural experiences.

Insurance & Medical Care

St. John's Mercy provides comprehensive medical, vision and dental care coverage for all house officers and their eligible family members provided that appropriate enrollment forms and supporting documentation is turned in within 30 days of hire. Professional liability insurance for residents with respect to their clinical activities while they are with St. John's Mercy is also provided. Life insurance premiums are paid by the Medical Center, and benefits are paid to the specified beneficiary in accordance with the salary schedule. An individual portable long-term disability insurance plan is available for purchase, supplemented by the Medical Center.

Professional Meetings & Conferences

Residents are encouraged to attend national professional conventions and conferences. Some financial assistance may be provided in specific circumstances. This must be discussed in advance with individual department directors.
